  Took my car in with a blowing exhaust because the tailpipe section had sheared off the silencer at the back. They tried to upsell me to a full exhaust system for about £600, they couldn’t be exact on price, I took it to a different exhaust garage who fixed the entire problem with an honest assessment and prompt service, replacing only the damaged section, for £65. Whilst I appreciate that exhausts do start to corrode from day one, I had a specific problem needing a specific solution. I appreciate that up selling is a commercial practice, and they’re probably under pressure from the bosses to do it, but they treat you as if you are naive and stupid, which at the age of 60, I am not! I strongly advise you get a second opinion before accepting ANYTHING said here as gospel.
